a quiet weekend.

This weekend was a relaxing one for me, considering I had a busy end to my week last week and I know the upcoming week and weekend will be just as busy. Still, the weekend flew by and now there are just three days until Thanksgiving and the beginning of the weekends’ festivities.

On Thursday, I took my first holiday-season trip to the mall and Target. There’s something about the mall I love – I guess that’s a Jersey thing – and it’s even better during the Christmas season, especially when it’s not super crowded. I had a few stores I needed to stop in, the most important of which was The Gap to use my Groupon. I picked up some new tops to wear with leggings, then bought a bunch of gifts from The Body Shop and a few things at Victoria’s Secret.

Friday was, of course, the premiere of Deathly Hallows. I made last-minute plans with Natalie to see it at 5:30pm, which was the best decision ever. Even though we got there ten minutes before it started, we still got our (reserved) tickets and there were plenty of seats available. I found this was much better than reserving tickets for a later show only to have to get there early and wait in line for good seats, which is what a large number of teenagers had done.

The movie was amaze-balls. I could go on and on – mostly about all the little swoony moments between Ron and Hermione (one ship!) and the best-friend-y dance between Harry and Hermione – but I’ll refrain. Honestly, though, I’m dying to see it again. Also, I’ve decided that no matter what, I’m going to the midnight premiere of Part II. SO EXCITED.

After the movie, we stopped at Dunkin on the way back to Natalie’s apartment, where we proceed to watch trashy television with her fiancĂ© (OMG I LOVE SAYING THAT). Of course, I could’ve done without the extra hour I spent stuck in the biggest clusterfuck of traffic I've ever seen on the way home. The construction geniuses of New Jersey decided it was perfectly fine to do roadwork directly behind a toll plaza, diverting eleven lanes of traffic into one. So much rage. The only plus is that a few radio stations are already playing Christmas music, so that helped.

My weekend was calm and cozy, just as I’d planned. I slept late both days, organized some things in my room on Saturday night, and on Sunday I watched football (last-seconds awesome win for the Jets, loss for the Giants), the AMAs, and did a bunch of random chores. It flew by just the same, but I feel prepared for the hustle and bustle of the upcoming week.

x's and o's.

If you weren't already aware, I am in love with all things pink and adorable. This means that Valentine's Day is up there next to Christmas as one of my favorite holidays.

My room is, appropriately, decked out in x's and o's, and I just spent a ridiculous amount of money on Valentine's Day gifties for both my boyfriend and my bloggy valentine.

Part of the reason that so much money was spent at Target is because I picked up two greeting cards for my parents and they were four dollars each. My mom scolded me for not checking the price, but they were greeting cards. Greeting. Cards. And they weren't anything special, either. I mean, I definitely expect to pay more for prettier cards, like ones from Papyrus, but these were your run-of-the-mill cards. I'm going to feel ridiculous, but I'm likely returning them. Eight dollars for two cards is not okay with me.

But more importantly, the lesson of the day is this: don't let me loose in Target by myself on or near Valentine's Day. Because apparently, all of these purchases were 100% justified because they were adorable.

diets and shopping.

Restrictive diets can suck my non-existing male genitalia.

Since about Tuesday night or so, I've eliminated from my diet any foods that are unnecessarily fatty, anything with chocolate or caffeine, most things dairy, and most raw fruits and veggies. What does that leave? Carbs. Lots and lots of carbs. Bread and pasta and rice and tortilla chips and corn flakes and graham crackers. Needless to say, it's getting old.

All of this deprivation is turning me into a pouty, grouchy mess. I complain constantly about what I can't eat, because, well... I can't eat what I want! It's so frustrating. Will it help me in the end? Yes, and I know that feeling better should be motivation. But I have huge self-control problems, so I'm simply not handling this well.

In order to keep myself sane, I've been indulging myself with some online shopping. From Forever 21, I bought a new summer top, heart-seamed leggings, and an adorable flower headband:

Today I stopped by Target and picked up some adorable greeting cards that were only 99 cents! I adore greeting cards, and usually I splurge on Papyrus because they are really well-designed and are so "me." Of course, they're a bit expensive, so when I found these that were by Carlton Cards, I went a little crazy and bought six:

And as usual, I've been lusting over many, many things on Etsy. But! I did go ahead and purchase the following necklace for my favorite almost-four-year-old best friend, Bella, for her birthday on Sunday (the #5 pendant, since she's a Leo):

from vapor72's shop

I also ordered a few other adorable Etsy things, because I just can't help myself sometimes. Especially when I'm feeling bad for myself because I can't eat the ice cream in my freezer.

finally satisfied.

I am finally in the final stages of completely cleaning out my room, and it feels absolutely amazing.

For the past few weeks, I've had piles of random junk all over the place, waiting to be sorted through and put away. Projects like de-cluttering my closet, shelf, and desk were begging to be completed. I was desperately craving a new desk because the one I use now is too big for me.

Now, I have minimal random stuff left over - a few books I need to skim through before I give them away, some graduation gifts to hang up or put away, and a bag of clothes from Kohls that need to be returned. Over the holiday weekend, instead of enjoying myself at barbecues and lounging poolside (which, don't get me wrong, I really wished I was doing those things), I was gutting my closet, giving it a new coat of paint, and tossing out old clothes and shoes that I haven't worn in years.

Also, I just purchased my new desk from OfficeMax:

Don't mind the bright pink and blue, because I'm not planning on picking up those accessories. They make the whole set look very kiddish, although since it's called the "Darling Writing Desk," I'm assuming it's mean for kids and tweens. Nonetheless, it was a cheap, white, simple desk that fits in my room much better than this current monstrosity:

Granted, I have a moderately large bedroom, but this is just cumbersome. The door on the left-hand side is meant for a computer tower, and while I use it to store stuff, it just gets in my way. I also need a new chair, because folding chairs are downright intolerable, or at least this one is.

I think once I finally get my desk, rearrange my furniture, and clean up the remaining bits and pieces, I will be so completely satisfied. I've never been 100% happy with my room, for one reason or another. But I feel like I've finally made big decisions to replace crappy furniture and clean out unnecessary clutter, and you know, it was something I really needed to do for myself. Having a clean and organized environment always makes me feel more at ease and more productive.

This was the perfect distraction to work on while I battled my health problems, which are [fingers crossed] getting better day by day. I think now I can finally start regaining confidence and make up lost time in the job hunt.

it's my party.

You know what I hate most about being away from my blog for so long? When I finally feel like sitting down and writing an entry, there is so much to talk about that I just can't. If I tried to explain where I've been for the past two weeks-ish, it would be a completely disorganized entry about nothing. So let's you and me pretend I was never gone, okay? Okay, awesome.

I've been planning furiously for a graduation party that my parents decided to let me have. We're having an open-house-type party, and I've just been letting all my creative juices flow. Because let's face it - I love planning and throwing parties. I'm probably going overboard for a simple house party, but what I can I say? I'm a crazy person.

There have been several shopping trips to Party City, Michael's, A.C. Moore, and Target, looking for anything and everything I can use to create the perfect party. Also acquired was The Dress from Forever 21 that I talked about here, as well as a PERFECTLY MATCHING pair of shoes that I bought on clearance at Mandee's. Because I am just that good. Unfortunately the Mandee website doesn't have a convenient little picture for me, so I'll remember to snap a pic of them when I'm home for Easter.

I am so excited for this party mainly because I don't have many opportunities to go a little crazy with decorating and planning. Now I have the opportunity to print my own invitiations, come up with cute and sophisticated flower displays, buy matching-color decorations, make some awesome little give-aways, and plan all sorts of other little surprises. Who knows if anyone will truly appreciate it all in its entirety - I mean obviously different details will be noticed by different people - but I will have come away with a sense of accomplishment and self-indulgence, which is basically the point. I know people are going to have fun at my party regardless of the details, but those details along with the fun will make for my idea of a perfect party.

nervous wreck.

Spring Break is treating me nicely, as I've spent my entire weekend out shopping. I actually started planning things for my graduation party, which has been a lovely distraction. However. Now there's a strong realization that oh shit!, I'm getting my wisdom teeth out in the morning.

I've heard all sorts of stories, ranging from awful to okay to "hey, I was doing X, Y, and Z by the next day." Regardless of this, I'm basically having a pitiful nervous breakdown right now. Mistake #1 was to read over the information that explains what could happen after the removal, things that have skeeved me out and made me regret reading it.

The silly thing is, I'm about 90% positive that sometime tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to write one of those "ohmahgah you guys, it was totally fine and I totally overreacted and hey now, prescription pain meds are totally awesome" posts. Unfortunately, this "ohmahgah you guys, what if I bleed forever and the pain meds make me sick and then I'm in pain and I suffer every single complication?!?!" post needs to happen first. Sorry about that.

Distractions are, therefore, very necessary. Lucky for me, today's shopping excursion went very, very well. Mainly because... well, remember this post, and the dress I was dying to own?

BOO-freaking-YAH!

[Pardon the first pic with the flash in my face, but it shows the color much better than the others.]

It's amazing. It's everything I've always wanted. See, when those kimono dresses came in style, I wanted one of those really badly, but they always looked awful on me. But this? Has the same loose quality that's cinched at the waist. I just... I love it! I tried it on in the dressing room and may or may not have bounced up and down a bit, because it looked so good.

And! Because Forever 21 is pretty much the best store on the planet, I found this:

I forgot to mention that the bathing suit I'd ordered from Victoria's Secret ended up not fitting well and not even looking that great on me. Instead of settling for that one, I decided I'll just return it and stick with the one above. Oh, and it looks SO much better in person, because I looked through all the Forever 21 bathing suits prior to my shopping trip and really didn't like any of them at all. So if you saw them online and were like "meh!" I PROMISE they are much more adorable in person.

I additionally scored a cute pair of closed-toe black heels from Payless, because I needed a good pair of shoes for interviews or (fingers crossed) my eventual job.

Basically, the moral of this story is, there is nothing that can't be cured with an amazing find-what-you-want shopping trip.

woo, spring break!

It is entirely too warm in my house right now. Not sweltering, just warm. The problem with this is that I'm super sleepy, and the warmth is just enough to make my eyelids think it's bedtime. Except it's not.

I just popped in a load of laundry, so I'm forced to be awake for the next two hours. I have some reading for class tomorrow, but um, I'm not really motivated to do it. I'd rather pack my suitcase for Spring Break. The problem there? I'm OCD and don't want to start packing until I have all my clothes clean and available for the picking.

So what are my exciting and thrilling plans? I... don't actually have any. In fact, I have the opposite of amazingly fun Spring Break plans - I'm getting my wisdom teeth out. Fun, fun, fun! The only plus here is getting to stay in bed and sleep as long as I like, and maybe getting a teensy bit spoiled along the way. Hey, I'm going to slightly resemble a chipmunk and be high on pain medication.

What else am I planning on doing? A little shopping, a little hanging out with friends I haven't seen in forever, and hopefully getting a chance to catch up with Lynds. She's prom dress shopping soon, and I'm DYING to tag along to live vicariously through her see what kind of dress she'll pick and maybe help out a bit. Because I love dress shopping. No, really. I. Love. It. When Lynds had her sweet sixteen two years ago, I and freaked out and spent MONTHS finding a dress. And it wasn't even my party. I might have a problem.

In fact, I've been looking for a cute dress for Easter. Nothing fancy, just something cute and dressy, but casual. Some options:

Belted Floral Dress, Forever 21, $22.80
[I JUST spied this one on the website, and OH EM GEE you guys, I want it so badly.]

Smocked Waist Floral Dress, Forever 21, $22.80
[Cute and simple. Loves it.]

Forever 21 is my favorite store in the entire world. Ever. It's trendy, affordable, and they have about a gazillion things in their store. I am just itching to get over to the mall and try on a bunch of cute dresses.

Eep, laundry's done! Time flies when you're obsessing over unnecessary wardrobe decisions.

online retail therapy!

So while the rest of my campus hustles and bustles as they get ready for the Ludacris and Lupe Fiasco concert tonight... I'm going food shopping. I'm awesome.

Today has been very blah, even considering the awesome weather and the fact that Natalie visited campus. I went to the career fair which was, aside from one good interaction, a TOTAL FAIL. I thought - and was reassured - that it would be easier for me to get a job from these people this time around. Instead, I was met with apathetic recruiters who were quick to inform me they were looking for interns and not full time, even though their listing in the brochure said FULL TIME. Right.

(Can I say that I spelled 'brochure' right on the first try, but that it definitely doesn't look like it's spelled correctly? But it is. I Google'd it.)

I was thinking of venturing out to treat myself to some retail therapy, but it's rainy and I'm tired, and no amount of coaxing from the websites of Forever 21 and Kohl's is going to work. But! I just online-purchased this bathing suit from Victoria's Secret:

A bit pricey, but I didn't get much for my birthday, so I'm using that as my excuse for splurging a bit. It cost $49, plus something like $8 shipping, but because VS is so awesome, I had a $10-off coupon code sitting in my inbox AND I got a free tote with this offer, which was worth $25. And I call that splurging. Pfft!

However, there is something on my wish list that is totally a splurge item, and that's a new iPod.

(in pink, of course)

Of course, I'm going to rationalize this away as well - the battery on my bazillion-years-old and no-longer-trendy iPod mini is kaput. It barely holds a charge from the time I walk to class until I walk back, which is about two hours. My mom found some sites that offer battery kits where I can simply pay $30 to swap out the battery... but I want shiny new toys! Plus, I'm starting to run out of room. So it looks like this will be my next major purchase. Yay, shopping!

I guess I could also provide you with my food shopping list, but I'm positive you are completely uninterested.

to tide you over

Hello, temporarily-abandoned bloglings. Sorry to have disappeared, but my dance recital is this coming Tuesday, and the week before recital is always the craziest. I'm planning to blog about it later tonight, but until then, a couple of pictures from Katrina's 21st birthday and, ou!, a reader-participation section.

Katrina and her entourage, before heading out to the city. She's the one in the red dress; I'm to the right of her. The other girls are her before-high-school best friends.

Katrina, about two hours after arriving and just about five minutes before getting sick, passing out, falling asleep in the bathroom, and getting kicked out. She got exactly the kind of 21st birthday she wanted.

And now, dear readers, a question for you! For my aforementioned recital, I've got a solo to perform. The song is "Keep Breathing" by Ingrid Michaelson, and can be heard here. I decided early on that I probably wanted to wear a dress for the performance, and so during my costume-hunting mall trip yesterday, I picked up the following two dresses. They're both easy to dance in, so basically I'm just asking you, which one do you like better?

Dress Number One!

Dress Number Two!

Even if you're just an occasional reader, new reader, or any other type of blog-lurker, if you're reading this and have an opinon, please respond with your favorite! And may I remind my non-blogging friends (I'm looking at you, Dani and Nat) that you too can comment. Still feeling shy? You can even reply anonymously, if you'd like. So have at it! I'm off to assist my studio director with the non-dancing aspects of the recital.

i hate mondays

Today was a sucky day.

First, I started the day with a grand total of three hours of sleep. Yes, three. After spending five hours on an Excel problem that I thought would take about an hour.

I got a response to an e-mail I sent to my Accounting Information Systems professor, which borderline-angrily accused her of giving out points for an assignment based on attendance. Of course, I sent that e-mail at around 4am, after the guys told me what I'd missed on Thursday, and before actually thinking about what they really meant. So basically, the response was uber confrontational and slightly bitchy, and it made me upset. Mainly because I dislike confrontation, but also because I felt bad about the wording of the e-mail in the first place.

My e-mail seemed to hate me today, because I also got one from the recruiter I e-mailed about a summer internship, asking for my GPA. Great. Better just cross that one off the list. It was just a big slap in the face about how hard it's going to be to get an internship with the terrible grades I have.

Additionally, I went way over budget for Lion's Fest stuff, and I failed to keep everything on separate receipts. Meaning, I'm only getting about $50 in cash for my supplies, and I spent close to $100. In both cases, I bought other things for my own personal use, so I can't submit those receipts. Good job, self.

But, at the end of the day, I went out and bought new black sneakers (which I'd been wanting for a while now), a pair of cute brown sandals, and a yoga DVD. Yay, shopping.

some random thoughts

  • Shopping is a cure-all. I was moping around the house after classes this afternoon, and since everyone abandoned me, my plan was to go to bed at around 9pm. As you can probably guess, that didn't happen. I headed out to go on a short shopping spree, actually got in bed at 10pm.. and couldn't fall asleep. Great.
  • Our bathroom light is fixed! I've spent the first three quarters of the school year making the light work by twisting it a little. Or, as I like to call it, magic. Finally though, it went completely out. It was fixed as an afterthought - we put in a work order to fix the flickering stairwell lights, because we decided quickly that we do not want a rave in our townhouse. The bathroom light was an extra little request. Rumor has it that maintenance showed up at 10am (while Natalie was roaming around in her underwear) and realized they couldn't fix the other light without a ladder. They claimed they'd be back this afternoon. They never showed up.
  • Mystique is tonight! Which is exciting enough, but it also means that my secondary high school crew is coming. I would call them my group of friends, but they're really Katrina's and Maddie's. You could probably figure that out when you see us together - a large group of Asians and about three white kids, including yours truly. Anyway. These kids are crazy and hilarious, and I can't wait to see all of them again.
  • In just a week, I'm going to have a crazy two days. Friday night is Relay for Life, the one day a year that everybody is jealous of my ability to stay up until 5am. From there I head back here to sleep from about 6am until 1pm, and then LYNDSAY IS COMING!!!!!!111!!!11one!. I am beside myself with excitement, for no real reason, considering I see and talk to her all the time. I've also found myself wanting to convince her to come to my college. Who knew I was so attached? I certainly didn't. Along with being excited, I'm having these terrible urges to clean the entire townhouse and make it look tons more amazing than it already does. My Martha Stewart tendencies will never die.

kiss me, i'm irish

I totally aced my midterm this morning. Who would've thought that actually studying would end up working to my benefit? A-heh.

So in case you were living under a rock, today is Saint Patrick's Day. I wish I had a history lesson for you all, but I don't, and I'm way too lazy to go look anything up. So! I'll tell you superficial things about the holiday, a topic in which I'm very well-versed.

First of all, everthing's green. Your clothes, your bagels, the icing on your donuts, your milk, and of course, your beer. And everything else in between. I think it's one of the only holidays where real foods are dyed a certain color. In addition to all the green, many people decide that just for today, they're Irish, which means partaking in consuming massive quantities of alcohol and the ever-popular catch phrase, "Kiss Me, I'm Irish." (Although, I've seen a new trend of shirts/buttons/etc. that say, "I'm not Irish, but kiss me anyway." There's a special kind of hate in my mind for crap like that. But I digress.) There is, of course, the traditional Irish meal - corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, rye bread, and Irish soda bread. I went through a phase where I was really tired of all those foods, because when the Irish cook potatoes and cabbage... we just toss them in a pot of boiling water until they seem done (read:until they're overdone). Which basically renders them tasteless. But, I've gotten over it, especially after adding copious amounts of salt.

What else? I guess I could talk to you about Leprechauns and rainbows and all that happy BS, but I don't really associate those things with the holiday, to be honest. For me, it's all about wearing as much green as possible and pinching all those who refuse to do the same. And eating green food.

The people over at Hershey's are doing amazing things, ladies and gentlemen. Today on my trip to Target with Melissa and Rachel, I stumbled upon Creme de Menthe, Coconut Cream, and Orange Cream Hershey's Kisses. They just keep coming up with new, delicious flavors to put in these things. Obviously I had no choice but to pick up a bag of the mint ones and the coconut cream ones. See, I'm a sucker for this stuff - cute things that come in a variety of flavors. I get way too excited when I see something like this, and I'm compelled to buy and try them. Basically, I'm their target consumer: that hypothetical, over-excitable store patron that the marketing people pretend really exists, who finds the bag and thinks, "OH MY GOD! WHAT AN INGENIOUS FLAVOR COMBINATION!"

Seriously though? It's blowing my mind that nearly every time I come across a display of Hershey's kisses, they always have a new flavor. Blowing. My. Mind.

More about my shopping habits

You know what's kind of ridiculous? I can buy things I don't need at any given moment, and yet when I actually need something, it takes me forever to buy it.

At school, if someone says they're going shopping, immediately I say, "Where? Really? I think I'll join you." It really doesn't matter where they're going; I can buy worthless crap anywhere. When I'm at home, I'm constantly asking my mom to go shopping with me (why the pointless torture? Because she'll pay for things if she's with me). But see, I try to fool myself by shopping for sale items, thinking that it's totally worth it now because I paid twelve dollars instead of the original fifteen.

However. When it's something I actually genuinely need.. it takes way too long. For example. When I went to school, I brought the TV from my room with me. Then, because I couldn't stand being home without a TV in my room, I took the one that's been sitting in our basement. For the longest time, I couldn't find a remote to go with it, so for a couple of weekends I endured the burden of having to choose only one channel to watch before bed, and having to get up from being cozy in my bed to finally turn it off when I was tired enough. Needless to say, it didn't take me long to search fervently through this house to find the remote. And I did. But guess what? This remote halfway doesn't work. The volume controls and the channel up and down buttons don't work. Meaning I have to get up and adjust the volume, and to "surf" the channels, I have to punch in the number for each one. Because apparently, I'm crazy.

How little effort would it take for me to go to any store and buy a universal remote? Very little, especially considering I've even been to stores where I could've purchased said remote. But have I? No. I also haven't bought high-quality tweezers, a picture frame for dance pictures, and a Bible, all of which are additionally on my "need to have" list. But! I bought new flip flops and new jeans! Totally necessary, considering I already have jeans. And flip flops. AND IT'S NOT EVEN FLIP FLOP WEATHER YET. Right.

*

It's Thursday, ladies and gentlemen, which means that Spring Break is almost over. Meh. I've spent the beginning of this week sleeping, eating, sleeping, working.. and sleeping. With a bit of bumming around sprinkled on top. I really can't complain, because it's really what I needed to do with this break. Still, I'm a little jealous of people who did really cool or fun things this break.

And now, I'm out of things to say, and stuck trying to come up with something cool and awesome to end with. Unfortunately, I'm terrible at conclusions. So. In conclusion... I have nothing with which to conclude. The end.

Change of pace...?

You're all going to be very proud of me, because I went shopping today without buying things I didn't need. Hooray! What I did pick up:
  • a pair of plain jeans (because on several occasions, I've gravitated towards the ones with pretty sequined designs on them, and it's best I have a few more plain pairs)
  • a bathing suit bottom (long story short, I bought a size too small last season, but the top still fits; luckily I was able to find a pair that matches perfectly)
Ta da! I am a reformed shopper. Hopefully this will keep up, because I'm becoming painfully aware of how close I am to entering The Real World (no, not the MTV show, unfortunately), and how much money I do not have.

That was one of the reasons I couldn't fall asleep last night - my brain decided it was time to run through the list of things I try to keep quiet for the majority of my waking hours. This list includes how I haven't put much effort towards getting an internship for this summer, how I screwed myself by having a low GPA, how I'm going to have to move out of this house as soon as I graduate college, how I definitely do NOT have the funds to support myself, and of course, how I'm going to be a lonely cat lady for the rest of my life. Yeah, my brain just likes to tack that to the end of the list, just for fun. For shits and giggles. Except I'm not laughing.

*

Break has been relatively relaxing so far. I got home Friday and celebrated by purchasing some lightweight-esque alcoholic beverages: Watermelon-flavored Smirnoff Ice. Of course, I had to convince both my brother and my mom that it was NOT pure vodka, as they previously thought. My first argument was that they wouldn't put pure vodka into beer-like bottles for easy consumption. My second, more convincing argument was the tiny print on the label that said "malt beverage/5% alcohol." Like I said, I'm a lightweight. As long as it has a low alcohol content, tastes good, and makes me look cool because I'm over the drinking age and actually taking advantage of that fact... then I'll drink it.

*

Tomorrow's Monday, and I kinda, sorta told myself that once the actual weekdays started, I would start homework. Great. I don't really have a ton of work due at the end of break, but I would like to catch up on my reading and homework assignments. It would be wonderful to go back next week and not have that constant, quiet nagging in my brain about how I should be catching up and keeping up with work.

Also tomorrow - dance class. Which I may or may not be ready for. See, after what went down with this competition and the preparations for it, I was sick of everything and everyone. I'm even sick of the music, which never happens. One time, after attending one of Katrina's dance recitals, I told her how awesome this one routine was. She told me she liked it too, but was so sick of the song (which happened to be Beyonce's 'Crazy in Love,' a song I still really like). I didn't understand that sentiment until after this competition. Now, whenever Michael Buble's 'Feelin' Good' or even Janet's 'Feedback' (*tear*) comes on my iPod, I want to throw it against the wall. Not cool. Hopefully I'll be able to reconcile my feelings with those songs in time. I've had a week away from all the drama, so I'm thinking that should be plenty of time. Just remind me never to get involved with this nonsense again. Remind me that I'm retired, as of March 2nd, 2008. Thanks.

I suppose I should go fetch my laundry from the dryer, where it's been sitting for three hours now. Right.
