Summer Photo Challenge: Week 11 + #BEDS.

Confession: this picture wasn't taken this week. I was just so busy hanging out with E and getting ready for Saturday's bachelorette party that I completely ran out of time. Our challenge was bokeh, so I found the best example I could find that was still relatively summer-like - this picture is from spring of 2010.



Also, after a successful month participating in VEDA (Vlog Every Day in August), I'm following up with BEDS (Blog Every Day in September). I heard about it from Katherine, one of the new friends I met through VEDA, though from what I gather it was originally suggested by Christa.

Anyway, there are a list of prompts, but they will only be for days when I don't have something else about which to blog. Basically, I won't be double posting - one for the prompt, one for a separate topic - at any point. And yes, I realize I already missed a day (yesterday) but I don't plan on missing any other days.

Summer Photo Challenge: Week 10.

Wow, it's already week ten! I can't believe there are only two more weeks left. This week our challenge was to photograph something cold, so when I picked up an iced coffee while running around on Friday, I knew it was the perfect subject for my photo.

Once again, I'm late with my Summer Photo Challenge picture this week. I've also been really busy (and then stressed out about being busy) so I've been a little MIA. I'll be back soon.

This week our challenge was trees, so I took a few pictures over the weekend when I traveled to see E. He lives in the more mountainous part of New Jersey, which means lots and lots of trees.

This week our challenge was black & white. I took a couple of artsy photos yesterday, but then I remembered the ridiculous photos I'd taken with Lyndsay during our girl's night on Monday and decided I liked those much better. This one is my favorite - it shows how crazy we are during our dance parties. (Yes, I realize our heads are cut off, but I sort of like it better that way. Not sure why.)

This week our theme was splash. I went outside the box for this one again because I was nowhere near a pool or the beach this week - those would've been my go-to scenarios for capturing the theme. Instead, during the on-and-off rain showers yesterday, I hopped in my car and took pictures of the rain splashing on my windshield.

Once again, I neglected to post my photo for this week's Summer Photo Challenge (though I did take the picture on time!). This week's theme was flowers, and since I didn't get an opportunity to photograph any fresh flowers, I improvised with my new floral-print shirt from Old Navy.

Yes, I know that this is a day late. I had a busy weekend, so, c'est la vie.

This week the theme was fresh fruit. Since I'm (mildly) allergic to many fresh fruits, my mom doesn't bring home too much from the grocery store. However, now that it's the summertime, we always have berries of some sort stashed in the fridge, and this week we had blueberries.

I was sort of dreading this week because when I saw the list, sunflare was the only one that jumped out as something I knew I couldn't do (yet). Well, I mean, I've accomplished sunflare by accident in photos before, but never on purpose. I was worried I would have a hard time since I only have a point-and-shoot digital camera, but after reading a few articles and changing a few settings on my camera, I was ready to go.

It was hard to pick a favorite, but I ended up with this photo as my submission for the challenge:



When I was out taking these pictures, the lawn chair bugged me at first. I almost moved it, but I'm glad I didn't - it lends something to the picture, or at least I feel that it does. Another favorite is the photo below because the focus is the sunflare itself, but I disliked how dark the rest of the photo was.

This picture is from last week's Summer Photo Challenge, but I totally phoned it in -- the picture was taken on Monday night so I obviously didn't post it on Sunday.

This week's theme was books, so I went with the obvious, since I'm re-reading these for #SummerOfHarry.

I'm back for week two of the Summer Photo Challenge hosted by Stopping for Daisies!

To be honest, I got a little lazy this week. The theme was clouds, and I had planned on taking pictures on a few different days, but that never happened. This is my favorite from a small set I took the other day when I was lounging in my backyard, reading and enjoying the fresh air.

My friend over at Stopping for Daisies came up with this neat little photo project for the summer. I decided it'd be fun to participate since I like to pretend I'm good at photography - I am definitely not, but she is, so you should check out her blog!

This week's theme was something sweet, which I interpreted pretty literally.
